Update 0.5 (the koloxlo update)


At long last, we have an updated Astrominer build! I'm calling this one "the koloxlo update" because basically every bug that was fixed in this update was found by discord user koloxlo. Many thanks to him for improving this game, and providing tons of valuable feedback!

In non-gamedev news, we have finally settled down into our new house and almost all of the boxes have been unpacked. I'm hoping to return to a more regular gamedev schedule during the week. However now that I'm back to working a full time job, updates may come slower than they have been over the past year. Rest assured however, I am still working diligently on Astrominer! I appreciate your patience and enthusiasm <3

Changes:

  • made it so player can't place objects on top of liquid tiles or non-land tiles
  • made it so snow biome enemies won't be frozen by ice tiles
  • made it so heat biome enemies won't be damaged by lava tiles
  • fixed a bug where confirmation bars were displaying on the main menu upon backing out of the settings screen
  • made it so player can't save while warping (death warp, or manual warp)
  • made it so the player can't craft items if they don't have inventory space
  • made it so when a player drops an item that has a buff applied to it, the item retains that buff upon picking the item back up
  • made it so middle mouse button drops inventory items, and E uses items while in the full inventory UI
  • made it so level/buff/repair/armor stones can't be combined with warp keys and other invalid items
  • fixed bug where enemies  killed by bombs weren't spawning loot
  • fixed crash with smelters and dirt processors due to a divide by 0 error when calculating how many cycles had passed since the machine was last activated
  • fixed it so moving minerals of the same type on top of each other doesn't cause remaining minerals to vanish when the inventory slot reaches capacity
  • made it so if player dies in a mig dungeon, they are booted out of the dungeon and will have to try again
  • added a special case check so if any lifeform on the overworld map gets knocked off of land tiles into space, it is instantly killed
  • graps are consolidated as much as possible to reduce how many collectibles are being spawned at once and prevent big framerate drops
  • updated how fast the graps amount will update on the gui so when the player receives a large amount, it doesn't take forever to tally up
  • made it so it should be less likely for the player to get stuck inside another object in cases where the player defuses from mig form. the player should now be pushed out as they try to walk.
  • updated credits screen with stellar playtesters section
